She would see right through a fake apology from him because they are the same in all these awful ways. Because they are both so contained; so put together; so careful and burdened and controlled. Because her rage in that scene is simmering under the surface and her violence is pushed down out of sight. Just like his is. They’re dangerous because they each try to keep this tight reign on their emotions. They’re dangerous because it is their emotions that turn them into weapons. (Sometimes it scares him: what they are.)
