People calling LaGuerta a cunt for arresting Dexter because she thinks he’s the Bay Harbor Butcher:
did you forget that:
a) laguerta is doing her damn job
b) doakes was framed, so his name and reputation was ruined
c) dexter has killed hundreds of people
d) and yes they were killers but dexter still broke the law
e) dexter is the bay harbor butcher
f) let’s repeat that: DEXTER IS THE BAY HARBOR BUTCHERLAGUERTA IS FUCKING SPOT ON AND RIGHT AND DOING HER JOB AS AN OFFICER OF THE FUCKING LAW. Dexter is not. He’s in law enforcement, breaking the law every damn day. And I love Dexter. I adore him. Part of me always relishes the fact that Dexter is dishing out a piece of vigilante, twisted justice to killers that have slipped through the cracks. But just as Dexter has a family - a son that he loves more than anything, a foster sister that he’d do anything to protect - so do a lot of these people that Dexter kills. Not all of them are stone cold ice truck killers.
So I really think people should step back and reexamine what they think about LaGuerta. She can act like a bitch. She’s not the most likeable character in the series. At all. I’ve spent my share of time thinking, Damn I hate that woman. But the fact that people are calling her a cunt BECAUSE SHE ARRESTED DEXTER is absolutely absurd. LaGuerta was right. It was the wrong time, wrong place, and she made it look very prejudicial and bad. She handled the execution of his arrest and interrogation all wrong. She became way too emotionally invested. But she was right.
Dexter is the killer she accused him of being. Just because he limits his kills to other killers does not make what he does any less wrong or LaGuerta any less right. And it certainly doesn’t make her a cunt or bitch or slut.

She would see right through a fake apology from him because they are the same in all these awful ways. Because they are both so contained; so put together; so careful and burdened and controlled. Because her rage in that scene is simmering under the surface and her violence is pushed down out of sight. Just like his is. They’re dangerous because they each try to keep this tight reign on their emotions. They’re dangerous because it is their emotions that turn them into weapons. (Sometimes it scares him: what they are.)
